This space was designed to reflect a New Orleans courtyard-style garden and pool. The clients desired a sense of enclosure, yet wanted to retain views of the surrounding woodlands. The garden design achieved this through the incorporation of recycled brick and flagstone in constructing a new patio and pathways. Water flows into the client's pool from copper troughs set in glass tile and brick, creating an attractive focal point. The addition of wisteria-draped arbors provided a balanced backdrop to create the desired courtyard ambiance. Little Gem magnolias provided enclosure while preserving the view, and we blended formally maintained shrubs with palms to create a perfect New Orleans ambiance.
