About Us

The Landscape Group of Louisiana, Inc. is owned by Rick Williams and Greg Thaller, both graduates of The LSU School of Landscape Architecture. Both have worked in the horticulture business since high school in the 1980’s, before forming the company in 2006.

The Landscape Group is a medium-sized landscape contractor that services the greater New Orleans area, Covington and the north shore of Lake Ponchartrain, and southern Mississippi. We offer complete landscape design services and installation for both residential and commercial projects. This may encompass landscaping, irrigation systems, outdoor lighting, patios, pathways, pool decks, pergolas, and other outdoor structures. We also design swimming pools and spas, but do not perform pool construction.

We also offer full-service horticultural services for both residential and commercial properties. This is not what we refer to as the “cut, edge, blow, and go” type of service. We do cut lawns, but our maintenance service goes beyond that: we trim all of our client’s plants and small trees, monitor for pest and disease problems, recommend treatments, remove weeds, replenish seasonal color and mulch, and monitor irrigation systems to make seasonal adjustments. Our maintenance crews are very detail-oriented.

We hold the following Louisiana licenses:

  • General contractor
  • Landscape horticulturist
  • Irrigation contractor
  • Arborist
  • Pesticide applicator

We are also licensed in Mississippi as a landscape contractor and arborist.

When you hire us, an owner will always be on the job, whether your project is a small landscape installation in someone’s backyard or large, multi-faceted commercial project. We take pride in our accessibility to our clients.

As landscape architects, our process is very important--it guarantees that the client is getting a product that is right for them and their needs. It is also important from an implementation standpoint: these plans guide our installation crews so that the design intent is carried out. We first meet with new clients to assess their needs and how they want to use the space in question, then do an inventory and an analysis of the site to develop a concept. From there, we produce sketches and drawings--either hand drawn or computer generated--to relate our concept to the client and use later as a map for installation. These usually include a landscape plan, a subsurface drainage plan, an irrigation plan, and an outdoor lighting plan. Then, simply enough, we get to work!
